My 8th rezzday

Another belated post, as my rezzday was almost two months ago! September was quite busy for me, so I didn’t organise anything special – I didn’t even think much about it, to be honest – but I was grateful to everyone who sent notes and messages on FB and elsewhere.

As always, Duncan redecorated my place, making sure that when I logged in at Refugium for our meditation session on the morning of September 9, everything would look very festive there.

And in the evening hours, after Ciska logged in, we had impromptu fireworks (not the best snapshot, but the sight was lovely!)…

…and we did some dancing at the Norgaard pub.

All in all, it was a perfect day in SL. I’m so grateful for such inworld experiences!

Fourth rezzday

Another year in SL has passed – it went by so quickly! It was a good year, I must say, and somehow my rezzday yesterday felt like a nice recap.

It began, as every morning (local time), with a meditation session at Refugium. Duncan surprised me with lovely cakes and balloons. I couldn’t wait for the session to end to grab a bite!

After I got back from RL work, there was a barbecue party at my place, with country music blasting from the loudspeakers.

As we were getting ready to TP to Odie, Nautilus, for the regular Friday silent movie night, Pierri – an experienced pilot – offered to first take us by boat to the Second Norway airport, where we would catch a plane to Nautilus.

The boat was quite something – a huge yacht almost as big as my entire island!

After some technical difficulties, most of us managed to get on the plane.

The flight was very comfortable… Until the moment when we all ended up on the bottom of the ocean!

Once on Nautilus, we had to catch a bus to Odie. Poor Gustav had to spend the entire time on the toilet, which I blamed on the plane food. Even in SL you have to be careful about what you eat…

Almost an hour late, we eventually did get to Odie for the screening of “The Cabinet of Dr Caligari”, a 1920 classic silent movie horror.

Even that ended with a mini-party with funny songs and gestures. 😀

It was a wonderful rezzday for me, and I wish to thank everyone who joined me in celebrating!

Third rezzday

Due to some technical difficulties, I haven’t been able to publish this blog post for exactly two weeks. Now that Blogger likes me again, I’d like to thank once again everyone who came to my small rezzday party. It took place on September 9, in the middle of an awfully busy RL week for me. I was so tired and overworked that day, which made spending time with my inworld friends all the more special.

Here are a few snapshots from the event…

My third rezzday

[Originally posted on Tumblr, 12 September, 2014]

A few days ago was my third rezzday. Not sure what that is in First Life years, but I still feel SL young, with much to learn, see and do. From what I remember, my first rezzday was quite uneventful, and in time for the second one, I wasn’t even inworld. That was a strange time, filled with unsought for drama, and I just avoided logging in too often. I’m happy to say that in the meantime, much has changed.

Reflecting on the past year, I’m grateful for the kindness and patience of my closest friends, to all the content creators whose creativity makes SL a wonderful visual experience, to residents who animate SL by bringing their diverse talents and spirit. Somehow I was taking a lot of that for granted during my first two years inworld, using SL mostly when I needed a quick escape from FL.

I’m glad I didn’t leave SL at that tipping point roughly a year ago. Had I done that, I would have missed on some wonderful friendships and all the fun I’ve had working on the parcels I’ve acquired in the meantime. Interestingly, second life inspired me to do better in first life, to explore more in both worlds and do more reading up on various things. Even experimenting with home decor in SL gave me fresh ideas for FL. All in all, it was a great year.

To mark that, I organized a small party at my two new parcels, the Nørgaard Farm and the Funkhaus broadcasting house. Here are a few pics from the event.
